I always have a great experience shopping here! The variety of products is impressive, and the prices are usually very reasonable. Plus, the staff is friendly and helpful, which makes the whole trip a pleasure!

So what’s up with the randomly scanning 1 item out of a customer cart? Like who gets scanned who doesn’t? This is the second time for me and today I paid close attention. I was the only black person in the line beside another young lady who I believed to be an employee. The clerk came to me and stated she needed to scan an item. Once again, I didn’t have a problem with it if Meijer feels the need to do this. So, after she scan my item she proceeded to go to the other lady but carried on a long conversation with her. The issue I have is, I counted 4 other individuals checking out (not my color) with tons of stuff and not one time did she approach them. Only reason she scanned the one customers stuff is because he had big items and we all know Meijer doesn’t have hand scanners. After that, she proceeded to go on about her day and let the other customers freely check out. I am not making this a racial thing, but what I seen today is unacceptable. If you scan one, then scan ALL.

I had a really great experience thanks to a man by the name of Anthony G in the frozen department! As I walked into the store I didn’t notice any shopping carts available so I just proceeded with my shopping when suddenly I realized I really couldn’t do without it & that’s when I noticed Anthony G working hard on a project and I walked over to him, greeting him and then I asked him if he knew where I could find a shopping carts. He stopped what he was doing and immediately went to get me one and let me know where they normally are and apologized that I couldn’t find one and why that was perhaps and asked me if I needed any further assistance. Anthony G went above and beyond the call of duty! Thank God for excellent customer support‼️Last but certainly not least I want to make mention of an associate by the name of Daisha who just made my day for her outstanding customer service service as well! Thank you for hiring such terrific associates‼️ God bless you‼️

They have 18 self check outs, 5 speedy self checkouts, and around 10 normal lanes. Only 2-3 lanes are ever open. If you have 5 items or less, you can’t even use the speedy self check as it’s always closed or down. Self checkout has so little room, because everyone is bringing full carts in, because there is no other options. You will be waiting to check out for 10 minutes min. If you are lucky. Customer service line is usually full as well, 8 or more patrons long. Grab a cart from the lot, as indoor corrals are usually empty. It’s a large store, newly remodeled, and fairly clean. But they never have anything! If you have a standard weekly shopping list, you won’t be able to complete it each week. I would say nearly 25-35% of the store is missing or un-stocked merchandise. Whole sections of shelves are just bare, and it never the same thing missing all the time.

The Meijer itself is pretty good however there is an older African-American lady short hair who works in the toys department. This woman is extremely rude, harasses children and adults when they are in the toy section walks up to children and says extremely rude and hateful things to them when they are looking at toys. Also does it to their parents I’ve seen her do it to multiple people and children and she’s also came up to me and my family on about eight different occasions pretty much anytime we go in this Meyer to look at toys. She makes it her mission to go over and start saying random things for example my children are looking for toys to buy, and she looked at them and said are you out of damn mind to the kids if you pick up any kind of toy in that section, she’ll come over and threaten to call security because you were looking at things One time she literally got in the face of my fiancé when we were looking at some things to buy to the point that my fiancé had to tell her to get out of her face before She makes her get out of Her face we complained the management about this lady and management said well sometimes we have a problem with children in the store so maybe that’s the reason she’s like this which is no excuse. Something needs done about This person she’s negatively affecting the business to the point that I didn’t buy things that I were going to purchase from there and went to target instead
