I love independent grocery stories trying to offer affordable food. Good meat and beer prices. Also they got some basic veggies. We need more stores like this in New Orleans I'm sick of driving to metarie to get basics

I've been here a few times to get specialty meats like fresh gizzards. I tried calling today to ask if I could get thick cut pork chops. You'd think I called an office supply store.... The woman was inexplicably mad at my question and hung up the phone. I tried calling back and they wouldn't answer. This is sketchy place and smells like death when you walk in. I was willing to overlook the location and appearance and smell, but not if they are going to be rude. Absolutely ridiculous.

Bought drumettes & other items from here & when I went to cook the drumettes they smelled awful! I attempted to swap them out the next day & the manager (I guess) told me "they guarantee their meat 24hrs". I never heard that after years of shopping there. I will not be returning to this store EVER AGAIN! Not only was the lady who served me rude, he ("the manager") was even worse, because he was disrespectful! This breaks my heart, because I had been so happy with them. Lesson from all of this is smell your meat before you buy it. I just wouldn't shop there, until they learn to respect their customers.
