Wow! One of the best shrimp po’boys I’ve had in Nola. Full stop. Not going to lie, at first glance this place seems sketchy, but please do not let that deter you! We were staying a block away at a Hilton brand hotel and decided to give this place a shot at 6:15pm on a Thursday. As we walked up, we were a bit suspect but walked in and ordered anyways. The shrimp was fried to order, bread was lightly toasted, fluffy and fresh. Tomatoes, lettuce and pickles were crisp. Do not judge a book by its cover and give this place a try! “My mama always said, life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” - Forrest Gump … and that's exactly what this place is! Coming from Australia, I wanted to try the local food spots and from personal experience have found that the best places are off the beaten path. Could not recommend this place more. Especially the shrimp sandwich. As Arnold Schwarzenegger once said, “I”lol be back.”

Okay ..This is my first time to Nola and I’m 2 mos in to my 3 month stay and have been trying Louisiana staples all over the city ..this is seriously the best gumbo I’ve had so far. It is ALWAYS the little ‘divey’ out of the way neighborhood places w the best food 🤤 If you are white and afraid of urban areas then this location might not be for you ..you also might want to read a book or meet someone that doesn’t look like you 😏 JS 💋

Sure is tasty, and reasonable pricing. I like the lunch specials, gumbo. And poboys. March 2025.

Correct the overhead information. Customers are confused about prices and what's available. No customer relations. In the heart of downtown. Away with this kind of business. The housing development is no longer the bricks. This business should think about coming up to 2025. This store is the same as pre-Katrina! Unbelievable!
